Specificity

What it is

Specificity means being precise and detailed in your prompts rather than vague. Instead of "help me write something," you might say "write a 200-word product description for a coffee maker targeting young professionals, emphasising convenience and design."

Why it matters

Vague prompts produce vague responses. The AI has to guess what you want, and it often guesses wrong. Specific prompts give the AI clear constraints to work within, resulting in outputs much closer to what you actually need. When in doubt, add more detail.
