What it is

PII (Personally Identifiable Information) in prompts refers to including names, addresses, phone numbers, financial details, health information, or other personal data in your AI conversations. This data becomes part of your interaction with the service.

Why it matters

Think before including personal information in prompts. Once sent, you've lost control over that data. For work involving others' personal information, be especially careful—you may have legal obligations around data handling. Anonymise or remove PII when possible.
