Leaderboards

What it is

Leaderboards rank AI models based on benchmark performance or user preferences. Sites like Chatbot Arena and the Hugging Face Open LLM Leaderboard let you see how models compare. Some use human evaluation (which model's response do you prefer?), others use automated benchmarks.

Why it matters

Leaderboards provide a quick way to survey the current AI landscape and identify top-performing models. They're especially useful when new models release frequently. But be aware that rankings can be gamed, and leading on benchmarks doesn't guarantee best performance for your specific needs.
