Artefacts

What it is

Artefacts (or artifacts) are standalone pieces of content that AI creates and displays separately from the conversation. These might be code files, diagrams, documents, or interactive elements. Claude, for example, can create code that runs in a preview pane separate from the chat.

Why it matters

Artefacts keep substantial content organised and usable. Rather than having code buried in chat messages, it's displayed in a dedicated panel where you can copy, modify, or run it. This makes working with longer content more practical and the outputs more accessible.
